Sen. Inouye (D-HI), along with 4 other Senators, introduced the Military Families Act, which would allow children of Filipino WWII veterans living in the U.S. to become permanent residents. About 50,000 Fiipino vets are alive today, and some 10,000 live in the U.S. The bill would also allow other immediate family of active military servicemembers to get green cards, even when the sponsoring soldier lost his/her life in service.
