Access To Quality Health Care
Wednesday, 01. 28. 2009
Health disparities are a reality in the United States. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, as well as other communities of color, experience a higher incidence of chronic diseases, higher mortality, and poorer health outcomes. For AAPIs that speak English less than very well, accessing the health system can be nearly impossible. The Immigrant Rights Project fights to promote and protect equal access to quality public health care for limited English proficient and low-income AAPI immigrants.
