Immigrant Integration

Wednesday, 01. 28. 2009

While immigration defines our identity as a nation, immigrants have long faced barriers in their pursuit of the American Dream. Poverty, discrimination and even the ambivalence of communities can debilitate a new immigrant's progress and ability to fully participate in American society. The Asian Pacific American Legal Center's Immigrant Rights Project seeks to fight poverty and discrimination in all its forms, but also seeks to build a comprehensive set of policies to assist new immigrants and new Americans fully integrate into the fabric of society. Updates In 2009, APALC's Immigrant Rights Project set out to explore the Adult ESL programming opportunities and challenges in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Check out the four videos we produced and the blogs where they have been discussed.
